Psychiatrist (Psychogeriatrics & Addiction Medicine)

Professor Philip Morris AM is a highly experienced physician specialising in addiction medicine, adult psychiatry, and psychogeriatrics (the psychiatry of older age).

He completed his medical degree in Sydney and undertook specialist training in psychiatry in Sydney and Newcastle, New South Wales. He later pursued advanced clinical training and postdoctoral research at Brown University and The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the United States.

Professor Morris consults from rooms in Wise Medical, Queensland, where he provides both in-person and telehealth consultations (via Zoom or similar platforms). He offers expert care for psychogeriatric, adult psychiatry, and addiction medicine conditions, as well as aviation medicine assessments, medico-legal reports, and capacity evaluations.

He is actively involved in medical research, including clinical drug trials focused on dementia and innovative treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive impairment. Professor Morris is passionate about medical education and regularly delivers lectures, workshops, and mentoring to medical students, junior doctors, and senior colleagues.

His professional interests span clinical practice as well as broader medico-political issues. He maintains an active blog for public discussion on relevant topics and welcomes comments there.
