Expertise
Dr Baraty has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease. He completed an advanced IBD and IBD imaging fellowship in Canada. During this time, he developed specialised skills in transabdominal ultrasound assessment of the gastrointestinal tract and is one of only three gastroenterologists in NSW accredited by the International Bowel Ultrasound Group (IBUS) and the Australian Gastroenterology Network of Intestinal Ultrasound (GENIUS) to perform this assessment. He is currently also undertaking a PhD in this field. He believes a healthy gastrointestinal tract is vital for overall health and has a superior understanding of the microbiome and can use his ultrasound skills in combination to help those with IBS and non-IBD gastrointestinal illnesses. He aims for complete patient care, combining evidence-based medicine and his advanced endoscopic and ultrasound skills with his empathetic, friendly, and respectful personality.
