Dr Affan is an Australian-trained vascular and endovascular surgeon with clinical appointments at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Macquarie University Hospital, and Sydney Adventist Hospital.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney and subsequently undertook his specialist vascular training at major tertiary centres across Australia including Liverpool Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in NSW as well as Fiona Stanley Hospital in WA.
Dr Affan has expertise in both minimally invasive endovascular and open surgical procedures, enabling tailored treatment for a wide range of arterial and venous conditions. His clinical interests include aortic disease, carotid atherosclerosis, dialysis access, diabetic foot disease, mesenteric and renal vascular disorders, and venous disease.
He holds a Master of Philosophy in cardiovascular epidemiology, is active in research, and regularly publishes and reviews for international journals. As a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery, he contributes to ongoing education and training of future vascular surgeons.
