Dr Yanna Ko is an accredited Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist. An alumnus of the University of New South Wales, she completed her medical degree with Distinction and undertook her physician training across many Sydney hospitals, including Concord Hospital.
She was awarded her Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), and holds a Master of Philosophy from the University of Sydney, reflecting her deep commitment to advancing the field of gastroenterology through research.
A compassionate clinician with a passion for holistically improving gut health and overall wellbeing, Dr Ko’s goal is to ensure all of her patients feel heard and cared for, and she strives to provide the best patient-centred care possible.
Dr Ko is a nationally recognised clinician-researcher, having received multiple awards, including the prestigious National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) research award for her ongoing research into gut disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and the microbiome.
She manages all aspects of gastrointestinal and liver disorders, including reflux, constipation, diarrhoea, bowel cancer screening and surveillance, and iron deficiency anaemia. Her approach combines the latest knowledge in gastroenterology with personalised, patient-centred care tailored to each individual.
Dr Ko has published multiple peer-reviewed research articles and has presented her work at national and international gastroenterology conferences.
